About – Allison Barnes
Allison Barnes is an artist and educator who has created and taught in NYC, Savannah, and Chicago. Her photographs and essays have been exhibited and published internationally, and her work and books are collected in museums, galleries, and libraries across the U.S. and Europe. Barnes finds joy working with students at UICCP by supporting scholars to discover their own vernacular so that they can express themselves authentically throughout their learning experiences. Her goal is to give all of her students the tools they need to access knowledge, especially through individualized reading interventions.
