About – Melissa Steele
She grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, but have lived in the city for about 15 years now. She lives with her 2 dogs and cat. They are her little loves! Teaching, specifically special education, has always been a passion of mine. It took her several major changes to get to teaching, but She is glad She got here. Her favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with her students. This school year She is most excited to continue to get to know the UICCP students. She is excited to co-teach Algebra 2 and see students continue to develop and grow their math skills. A goal that She have for SY22-23 is to have strong communication with Firecat families. She wants to not only build relationships with her students but with their families as well. She think with strong communication we can all best serve our students and help them reach their goals.
