Social Work Intern

About – Stephanie Ayvar

Her name is Stephanie Ayvar and She was born and raised in Chicago. Life as a child was difficult for her due to the adversity her mother and She faced. Upon moving in with her dad, her life changed for the better and She knew She wanted to grow up to be someone who could make a difference in the lives of children and families dealing with similar circumstances. As a second year MSW student seeking a field placement, she decided She wanted to be placed in an environment that would maximize her learning experience. Therefore, she is grateful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the Firecat Nation and uphold the school’s mission and values of the Noble community. One of her favorite ways to practice self-care is through hiking. Not only does it promote overall physical health, it also does wonders for her mental health. A few months ago She hiked the third tallest volcano in Guatemala overnight to see another volcano erupt. This was one of the most challenging hikes She’s ever done, but the views and feeling of accomplishment made it all worth it. She believes that if you want to grow as a person, you need to take risks and step out if your comfort zone. This school year She is excited to grow in her role and gain the experience needed to become a future school social worker and promote change and social justice within our community.
