About – Tyra Taylor
She’s Tyra and She is from the south suburbs of Chicago. During her time at Xavier in New Orleans, she had a few personal and professional experiences that inspired her to change from a pre-med track to social work. She feels called to do this work, and whenever She get discouraged there’s always a sign that lifts her up and reminds her that She is on the right path. Her favorite thing to do outside of work is sleep! She also loves going to brunch and having picnics. One of her favorite recent vacations was her trip to Dallas with her cousins and sister. It was so fun because She was expecting to be disappointed, but She was pleasantly surprised by the things we were able to do. Another one of her favorite things to do is watch shows. She recently watched The Sandman on Netflix, which She loved! She’s so glad to be at UICCP because of their commitment to positive multigenerational change, and She’s excited to start meeting and building relationships with the students!
