Relay GSE Master’s and Licensing Programs

We believe our people are the most valuable asset in preparing all our students to be successful in college and lead exemplary lives. We are committed to building a pipeline of strong educators and, accordingly, have invested in a partnership with Relay Graduate School of Education. Specifically, we offer two programs at Noble: the Noble-Relay Teaching Residency and the Special Education Master’s Program. See below to learn more.

Qualifications for Both Programs

Bachelor’s degree or expected Bachelor’s degree by June 2019
3.0 cumulative GPA or higher

Teaching Residency

The Noble-Relay Teaching Residency is for individuals who want to enter the teaching profession, and are looking for the support, training, and feedback required in becoming a highly effective teacher. Our teaching residents join a selective cohort of diverse and talented future teachers committed to educational justice.

  • 2 year program
    • Year 1: Resident Teacher (similar to a teaching assistant)
      Salary: $33,000
      Full tuition coverage
    • Year 2: Lead Teacher
      Salary: $50,000
$3,500 tuition out of pocket cost
  • A gradual on-ramp into the teaching profession with a high level of support at both the campus level (through your Resident Advisor) and through your professors at Relay
  • Graduate in 2 years with your Master of Arts in Education and an Illinois teaching license

Special Education Master’s Program

At Noble, 18% of our student body (2000+ students) has an individualized education plan (IEP), and we are proud that 75% of our students with IEPs are admitted to four-year universities. However, across the country and in Chicago, there is an urgent need for special educators. To help address this need and encourage people who are passionate about serving diverse learners, Noble provides a two-year Master’s program where employees teach full-time while simultaneously attending graduate school at no cost to them.

  • 2 year program
    • Year 1: Lead Learning Specialist
      Salary: $45,000
      Full tuition coverage
    • Year 2: Lead Learning Specialist
      Salary: $45,000
      Full tuition coverage
  • Graduate in 2 years with your Master of Arts in Education and a Professional Educators License with an LBS1 endorsement

It is very unique to be part of a teaching residency program that has such a close alignment to the school we work in. It is thanks to this alignment that we are able to immediately implement what we learn in our Relay class with our students.”
