Meet Our Principal
When Ellen Metz was a junior at Mother McAuley High School on Chicago’s southwest side, she decided she wanted to teach history to students in Chicago after college. She earned a BA in History and Secondary Education from the University of Iowa and began her teaching career in 2001 at Farragut Career Academy in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood.
After graduating her advisory at Farragut in 2005, Ms. Metz headed to Noble to teach because she was drawn to the Noble mission. Similar to Noble, she also believed that students, regardless of zip code, deserved an excellent education that could position them to access a college degree. Ms. Metz believes that students need two things from their school: love and high expectations. When you walk into the doors at Noble Street College Prep, both are alive and well within the halls and classrooms. As a dedicated mother and wife, Ms. Metz understands that serving our students and their families is sacred work. Every day she feels lucky to be able to live and work in the great City of Chicago, serving our Noble families.
