Welcome to Pritzker!
At Pritzker College Prep, our mission is that all students will use their college degrees and careers to “achieve greatness, and make sure to share that greatness with others”. To see this mission to fruition, we have to work closely together. We want to begin by recognizing that in choosing us, you are trusting us with your child and their education. We realize that attending Pritzker is a choice, and we honor that choice with a great sense of pride and responsibility.
We don’t just believe in college access, we believe in college persistence and graduation. Using a holistic, student-centered learning approach, we prepare students to own their voice as they take on rigorous, hands-on challenges. To date over 70% of our graduates attend the top colleges in America. We are proud to consistently be one of the highest performing high schools in Chicago, with the top SAT growth results in the city last year alone. We are also extremely proud of our continued 1+ rating and are excited for you to join us in this journey.
By choosing Pritzker, you are choosing to join a school that is over 900 students strong with a legacy that is over 1200 alumni and growing. We hope to be able to welcome you to the Pritzker College Prep family. We are excited to meet you!
The almost 900 Pritzker students come from the Hermmosa, Humboldt Park, Logan Square neighborhoods and dozens of other neighborhoods from all over Chicago. They hail from more than 50 different elementary and middle schools. Pritzker students study in demanding Advanced Placement and honors courses, compete in a wide variety of extracurricular activities and sports. All students at Pritzker take one elective – either band, choir, JROTC, journalism, or speech and debate. All Pritzker students must complete a minimum of 70 hours of community service before graduation as well as pass rigorous athletic requirements. Pritzker students consistently achieve 100% attendance to four year schools and more than 80% (on average) matriculate to four year schools upon graduation.
At Pritzker, we believe in giving the students a well-rounded and complete high school experience. We work hard to ensure our school provides all the same opportunities many larger, high performing urban and suburban high schools provide. This includes our intentional decision to employ a full time, on-site social worker to ensure our student’s various needs are met with consistency and care. We offer a plethora of varsity and JV sports including more traditional sports such as volleyball, football, cheer leading, soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball, and more specialized sports such as rugby (girls and boys) and ultimate frisbee. In addition to sports, we offer after school clubs that are created by students for students to meet student interests. These range from yoga and anime to cinema and drill team. We aspire to have something for every student to engage with and find pride in. Additionally, every student gets to choose from one of five electives courses, which they learn as a novice in 9th grade and become leaders and masters of by 12th grade.
To help ensure that no student falls through the cracks, and to make our community more intimate, each student is assigned an advisor and stays with their same advisory class for all four years. This continuity allows a trust and intimate knowledge of each student’s strengths and struggles as they travel through high school and seek support in their college placement and search. Our advisory program is truly something that sets Noble apart, and it is often considered one of the most important aspects of our student experience.
Pritzker College Prep first opened its doors in 2006, as one of the first expansion campuses. Since then, we have increased our enrollment to over 900 students and have graduated 4 classes of seniors. All of our seniors were admitted to a four-year college. Of those, over 70% have been accepted to the top 100 ranked colleges in America.
A sample of colleges include: Brown University, the College of William and Mary, Columbia University, Connecticut College, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, DePauw University, Duke University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Grinnell College, Harvard College, Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, Northwestern University, Oberlin College, Occidental College, Princeton University, Stanford University, Tufts University, UCLA, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas, United States Military Academy at West Point, University of Virginia, Vanderbilt University, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wesleyan University, Williams College, and Yale University.
Part of our success can be attributed to the generosity of our naming donors, Penny Pritzker and her husband Bryan Traubert. Penny and Bryan have supported the Pritzker campus, and indeed, the entire Noble Network, in many ways. Bryan served on Noble’s Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011 and both actively supported Noble’s expansion through the Pritzker Traubert Family Foundation. Their committment to high quality education for Chicago’s youth also helped found Noble’s tenth campus, Johnson College Prep in Englewood and Hansberry College Prep.
Our Mission and Goals
Pritzker College Prep is dedicated to preparing our students to graduate from top-tier colleges by providing strict character development and a rigorous academic curriculum.
Pritzker’s goal is to position our students for admission to the most competitive universities and colleges in America. We do this by focusing on rigorous academics, strong character education, smaller ratio of college counseling caseloads, and well-rounded options for extracurricular activities and sports.
Our Core Values
Pritzker College Prep believes what we have to offer contributes to a truly special high school experience. A part of what makes us unique is our deliberate focus and attention on school culture and student character. We believe that by embracing these four core values, our students are destined for greatness as we reach college and beyond.
Pride in the challenge. Pride in the results.
One Team. One Goal.
Decide. Commit. Persist. Succeed.
Know yourself. Improve yourself.
Meet the Principal
Principal, Pritzker College Prep
As a senior tutor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Carrie Spitz realized that she had a passion for teaching and educating others. Through Teach for America (TFA), Mrs. Spitz was given the opportunity to come back to the Chicagoland area to serve the community of West Englewood as a high school Spanish teacher. During this time, Mrs. Spitz earned her Master’s Degree in Teaching (MAT) through Dominican University. Shortly thereafter, she joined the Noble Network at Pritzker College Prep. At the time, Pritzker was in its 2nd year of operation, and Mrs. Spitz was inspired by the task of building a new school. In 2012, Mrs. Spitz became a finalist for TFA’s Chicago Alumni Distinguished Teacher Award. That same year, Mrs. Spitz was accepted into the KIPP Summer Leadership Program, as a member of their Leadership Team. In 2013, Mrs. Spitz earned her Ed.S in Administration.
This is Mrs. Spitz’s 11th year at Pritzker, and throughout this time she has served as a teacher, Dean, and Assistant Principal. In 2017, with great honor and pride she accepted the role to serve the Hermosa community as the Principal of Pritzker College Prep. She believes that through hard work and high expectations Pritzker will continue to push the limits of what is possible for its students and community.
