Documenting Self: A Poetic History

Instructor: Ms. Brittanee Rolle

Description: Quarantine has limited our social interactions and deprived us of much needed human connection, but what if the connection we most desperately need is with ourselves? Documenting Self will include reading slam poetry, watching short sitcom clips and writing lists that allow for deeper reflection and will inspire poetry writing. After writing poetry we will then focus on delivering it in the slam/spoken word tradition. We will then perform selected poems to our schools, families and friends. If you long for a deeper understanding of yourself, and to strengthen your poetic abilities, this workshop is for you.

Open To: High School Only (9-12)

Meeting Time: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30pm
