School History & Mission
SCHOOL HISTORY
Butler College Prep (NBCP) is the first campus of its kind within the Noble Network to have a unique focus on the arts. In addition to a college preparatory education, our Leaders will study literature, creative expression, and martial arts. NBCP will host events throughout the year to showcase the talents of our Leaders. NBCP Leaders will be social justice advocates and change agents for their community. We believe that the next social justice leaders walk among these walls. Butler College Prep will teach them how to make their voices heard in the most positive, effective ways. We will help our Leaders feel involved in decisions that will have a direct effect on them and their neighbors, teaching the truest definition of community. Community service hours will be required of each Leader, in order to engage their commitment to service of others.
MISSION
The mission of Butler College Prep is to produce socially engaged and responsible citizens of the world through an academically rigorous education infused with arts that also emphasizes social justice and an intercultural understanding of the human experience. Meaningful engagement in our academic programming by students, teachers, and staff is the crux of the Lynx experience.
