About – Jorge Segovia

Jorge Segovia is a second generation Latino born to Salvadoran parents. Jorge grew up in Minneapolis, MN and has lived in Illinois for the past six years. His passion for education stems from his parents active involvement in community service work, community organizing, and the desire to dismantle systemic barriers that prevent families from knowing their rights and opportunities to seek higher education. Jorge is an active learner and highly invested in bringing out the best in the communities that he represents and serves. He is eager and excited to be a part of the Diverse Leaders Fellowship so that he can continue his journey into leadership within education.
