ITW David Speer Academy

Welcome to Speer Academy!

Home of the Pride!

We are Noble’s first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) campus among its network of 16 campuses.  We opened our doors in 2014 to 300 students in the City of Chicago.  Speer Academy is focused on preparing students to graduate college with STEM degrees to meet our work force’s demands.

Students are exposed to rigorous college preparatory classes, participate in college courses on a college campus, have access to a state-of-the-art educational and athletic facilities, and more. Our students will have the opportunity to participate in a STEM internship during their senior year with Fortune 500 companies.

Dear Speer Families,

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that the Speer family lost one of its teaching staff, Mr. Guastella.

Mr. Guastella leaves behind a wife and young daughter.  We are deeply saddened by this loss, as he was an integral part of our school.

The students were made aware of Mr. Guastella’s untimely passing this morning, and student support services were present throughout the day to offer support for our students in their time of need.  Student support services will also be available tomorrow to assist students during this difficult time.  As students process this sad news over the next few days, please encourage your child to seek guidance at school if they need to talk about their feelings.  The wellness of your child is Speer Academy’s top priority.  We will inform students of the arrangements that the family makes on Mr. Guastella’s behalf, once we receive that information.

If you have any questions or concerns about your student, please feel free to contact the school.

Respectfully,

Thomas Mulder
