About – Carrie Spitz
Carrie began her career in education with Teach for America, where her first placement was as a high school Spanish teacher in West Englewood. After earning her Master’s Degree in Teaching, she joined Pritzker College Prep in 2007, during its second year of operation. Inspired by the opportunity to build a school from the ground-up, over the years, she steadily took on greater levels of responsibility at Pritzker, culminating in her becoming the principal of Pritzker College Prep for nearly a decade. During her time at Noble, Carrie has been a finalist for Teach for America’s Chicago Alumni Distinguished Teacher Award, completed KIPP’s Summer Leadership Program, earned a post-master’s degree in Educational Administration & Supervision, and was named INCS Principal of the Year in 2023. It is this unwavering commitment to Noble over the past 17 years, along with Carrie’s nearly unparalleled experience in one of Noble’s schools that inspired her to work for the People Team at Noble; she was excited to continue to serve the broader Noble community and ensure that we are not just the best place to attend, but also the best place to work. As of July, 2024, Carrie has officially stepped into the role of Noble’s Chief People Officer and is thrilled to continue to journey of proving what is possible for the children of Chicago through this new seat at Noble.
Why do you work at Noble?
We never rest on our laurels and we continue reflect and redo until we get closer and closer to our vision of excellence at every layer of our work. I also love working somewhere that cares as much about our goals and metrics as the people that work here.
Who was your favorite teacher while growing up?
Favorite thing about Noble or favorite Noble moment?
My favorite Noble moment was the graduation of GCCP’s founding class in 2012. The years of work, the collective pride, and the joy in the moment is unparalleled in my professional career.
