Dear Noble Community,
Springtime always reminds me of the incredible energy that fills our schools, from the classrooms to the athletic fields and performance stages. I’m always inspired by the way our Noble community comes together to support and celebrate one another.
Last week, I had the privilege of seeing our students’ talents on display at the Noble League Honor Music Festival and Ensemble. The Ensemble featured performances from several campuses, including the Butler Concert Band, Baker Jazz Band, Rauner Concert Band, Pritzker Jazz, UIC Concert Band, Pritzker Wind Ensemble, Bulls Guitar Ensemble, TNA Griffin Band, and Bulls Symphony. The Ensemble was an uplifting experience, with every campus performing with such excellence and precision. I also want to give a special shout-out to the teachers and staff who have been investing in our students to get them to the next level to perform like this. I love to see our students digging into their passions and having their natural gifts and talents honed by experts, giving them a richer educational experience. Thank you for continuing to pour into our students.
The celebration of student creativity continues, and I’m excited to invite you to our upcoming Visual Arts Festival, where you can experience the incredible artistic talents of our students. The in-person exhibition and awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at Chicago Bulls College Prep from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
As we get into quarter 4, let’s continue to carry this energy forward. Celebrating our students' excellence and cultivating their talents to provide them with the educational experience to help them lead choice-filled lives.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Much Love,
Brenda

PARENT ADVOCACY TRAINING INTENSIVE
Earlier this month, a group of dedicated Noble parents wrapped up their Parent Advocacy Training Intensive(PATI) program— a new Noble initiative designed to empower parents who want to strengthen their advocacy and parent engagement at their campus.
The group met every other month this year to talk about meaningful issues in education, crafted plans to achieve it, and strategies to deepen parent engagement across the network.
Their heart and commitment to all Noble students shined through in their presentations, and we’re excited to see their ideas grow and evolve.🌟
Congratulations to the parents who completed the program:
✨ Jasmine Lopez – Baker College Prep

NOBLE'S POLICY CORNER
There are six weeks left until the end of the general assembly session and Noble’s Government and Community Affairs (GCA) Team has been working with a few coalitions to support our priorities. Next week in Chicago, The GCA Team will be attending a rally in support of our fellow public charter schools whose renewals will be voted on by the CPS Board of Education on Thursday, April 24th. After a three-month deferral, the Board is scheduled to vote on these renewals this month. INCS is organizing a Rally for Renewal which will take place ahead of the 3:00 PM Board meeting. The goal of this rally is to demonstrate the significant strength and number of charter school advocates. Our team knows the importance of showing up. We recall the solidarity shown by many of these schools during the rally for our renewal in January 2024, and we are committed to reciprocating that support.
Our participation in a network of coalitions provides us with essential information and resources for effective advocacy. Noble's consistent engagement and proactive stance are well-regarded within these groups. Our "advocacy superpower" – our large and connected community – empowers us to effectively mobilize significant action, whether through participation in rallies, the generation of constituent letters, or direct calls to legislators. Below are a few ways that you can support. Please share this within your own school community.
-
Write a letter - Urge Lawmakers to Prioritize More $$$ for IL Schools (due April 22): Our team will be traveling with about 20 Noble folks to advocate in person on April 29th. There is still time to write a letter. It only takes 3-4 minutes, and you can personalize your message to share why this matters to you. Click here to send your letter now!
- Write a letter - Urge Lawmakers to Create an Equitable Funding Formula for Higher Education (due April 31): Illinois public universities, a popular choice for Noble alumni, face funding challenges: a lack of a state appropriation model, a 46% funding cut since 2000 (shifting costs to students), and a 15,000 student enrollment drop (disproportionately impacting minority and low-income students). Noble actively participates in a coalition addressing this (recent Advocacy Day video). Support our efforts by urging legislators to pass SB 13 / HB 1581, a bill establishing a student-focused university funding formula to address these inequities. (Note: this bill creates the formula only). Click here to send your letter now!
