About – Violeta Cerna-Prado

She is a first gen, Mexican American from Pilsen, Chicago. Her parents divorced when She was seven years old and her father remarried when She was thirteen. She is the oldest daughter of five. She has one full sister, two half-sisters, and one adopted sister. She is close to her extended family and have over sixty first cousins. She began her career in education after attending a selective enrollment high school in our city. She lives with her fiancé and two dogs. When She was seventeen years old She participated in a study abroad trip in high school that took her to Europe and focused on the events of the Holocaust. This was a turning point for her in her relationship with others. She grew up fairly low-middle class with her dad but high-middle class with her mom.
