Corey Fayne

Gary Comer College Prep

A proud Chicago-native (Albany Park) and half Jamaican, he prides himself in his capacity to lead passionately and discerningly, catalyzing scholars’ pursuit of excellence through coaching, mentoring, professional/student collaboration, and inquiry. He grounds his work in radical education, especially in ameliorating the high school experience for Black and Brown scholars whose ambitions propel them to carry a collective legacy of impactful change, choice, shared power, and mobility–the manifestation of self-defined change agents. He centers humility and empathy through his service and leadership so as to engender scholar-led, intrinsically motivated action in our educational milieu. Outside his passion for education, he also loves animals, all things culture (e.g., music, dance, singing, languages, food), traveling, hiking, exercising, rollercoasters, horror movies, and bringing friends and family together by hosting barbeque get-togethers at his house—yes, barbecue sauce is the best and only condiment needed for barbecues! He has a ferret named Saoirse (sounds like “Sur-sha” or “Seer-sha”) and considers himself an unofficial dog whisperer. He is ecstatic and super grateful to be a part of SY25-26’s Cohort 8 of DLF! He is empowered by the prospect that there is so much to learn as well as give as a contributor to the Noble ethos and educational mission.
