About – Jaqueline Larry

Jacqueline Larry is in her first year as 9th Grade Dean at UIC College Prep. She began her work at UICCP in 2017 in the role of choir director. She was also instrumental in co-creating and co-facilitating the Black Student Union and was one of the inaugural members of the UICCP DEI Task Force. She believes deeply in the work of building equitable, anti-bias, anti-racist schools, but she is most passionate about living a whole life that reflects that passion. Jacqueline is a Chicago native and graduate of Chicago Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of St. Francis and a Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music. She is also excited about starting a PhD in Music Education at the University of Kansas in the upcoming year. Although she will never lose her love for creating music, she is excited about this next chapter in her career as the 9th grade Dean.
