JuDonne Hemingway
Principal, Gary Comer College Prep
JuDonne Hemingway is an experienced, innovative, and adaptive systems leader who helps others persist unapologetically in pursuit of their visions. She explores how strategic analysis, responsive practices, and values-based leadership development work together to help leaders ignite their superpowers and reimagine what’s possible.
JuDonne currently serves as the Principal of Gary Comer College Prep 6-12 where the mission is to cultivate scholars to become knowledgeable, confident, and responsible leaders on a path to achieve their highest aspirations- in high school, college, and beyond. JuDonne leads her team of 140 staff members towards this mission by providing an anti-racist school environment that focuses on joy, rigor, and relevancy where all 1100+ scholars are affirmed, challenged, and celebrated for both who they are and what they hope to become.
Prior to being a school principal, JuDonne served as the Senior Managing Director of Leadership Development at Teach For America Indianapolis. In this seat, she was responsible for building the capacity of over 400 beginning educators and alumni systems leaders in ways that disrupted inequitable practices for nearly 6,000 students across Indianapolis.
JuDonne also served as the Assistant Principal of Academics at Butler College Prep, another campus of the Noble Network of Charter Schools.
