About – Luis Gonzalez

Luis González Mendoza is a first generation college graduate and DACA holder who was born in Mexico and grew up in rural Indiana. Luis has always had a passion to serve immigrant communities and immigrant youth. As a college student, Luis balanced his time between work, school and community organizing, where he had the opportunity to co-lead local, state and national initiatives to bring justice to Indiana’s undocumented populations. After graduating from Indiana University South Bend, Luis spent six years working for the City of South Bend’s Department of Diversity & Inclusion under the leadership of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and in recent years, the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago. Today, Luis serves as Noble Schools’ DREAMer Supports Manager, where he oversees the Pritzker Access Scholarship and provides holistic support to Noble’s undocumented populations and their families during high school and as they persist through college.
