Hansberry College Prep

Hello, my name is Maisia Reid. I am the Alumni Counselor at Hansberry College Prep H.S. I am a proud CPS graduate from King College Prep H.S. and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I earned my Master’s Degree in Health Education and Promotion from Walden University, so I am committed to cultivating healthy, well-rounded youth into young adults. My background blends counseling, compassion, and a deep commitment to equity.  I believe in the power of education as a pathway to opportunity and justice. I’m passionate about helping students, especially first-gen and underrepresented youth, figure out their path after high school. I’ve been in education for a while now, and I love the mix of relationship-building, strategy, and advocacy that comes with this work. I have been a part of the College Team since SY 19-20. I’m excited to connect with others who are just as committed to dismantling barriers and creating systems where all students can thrive.
