About – Johnathan Blader
Originally from West Have, Connecticut, Jon moved to Chicago in 2017 as part of the Teach for America program and has loved teaching ever since. This past summer, he read and enjoyed The Index of Self-Destructive Acts by Chris Beha while also sinking a ton of time into NBA2K and FIFA. UICCP has been his home for the last two years and continues to be a place where students and staff are encouraged to grow and challenge themselves. This year, Jon hopes that his students rethink their assumptions about why history is important and how impactful it can be to harness the knowledge of yesterday to understand and combat modern issues.
