About – Kameshia Ward

Kameshia K. Ward, affectionately known as Mama Ward on campus, is currently the Dean of College Counseling at Hansberry College Prep and has been there since the 2014 school year. Her loving, energetic and joyful demeanor is life-giving and always on time. She approaches life with humility and a passion for integrity. Going above and beyond, to her, is simply operating in her calling. Her Jamaican upbringing and immense faith are foundational to the spirit of excellence she applies to every situation. As a Howard University Alumna, Kameshia’s love, zeal and value for black culture remains engraved in her DNA. Married for 12 years and a mother of 2 boys, her God given family remains her most important treasure. She truly believes that every seed she sows will bear good fruit, and she is committed to sowing as much as she can into edifying black students, specifically to develop equitable outcomes for black males.
