About – Nicole Alvarado
She is from Chicago, IL born and raised in Humboldt park. She went Rowe-Clark for high school then UIUC for college. She started as a Culture member at UICCP which lead her to her passion to finally teaching Art. Best trip has to be first time going to Puerto Rico, her parent had five kids and struggled really to travel back PR to show us our root so it was very rewarding trip to be able to take herself. Favorite food has to be hot wings but like the sauce has to be amazing. Favorite high school memory has to be getting to school at 5am for softball practice and being goofy in the empty hallways. She works at UICCP because She want to build positive relationships with student and be a part of their fond high school memories. This year will be her first time teaching full time and excited for the challenges of it all. The year She want to make her class each students safe place, a place where they can be themselves, and just breathe.
