This is part of a series of blogs from Noble campus representatives to give a deeper look at campus life.
As the holiday season approaches and businesses are holding giant winter sales, we wanted to take this moment to promote some of the small businesses connected to DRW College Prep. Take a look at what some of our community members and students are doing:
Styles by Niya
Saniya Clayborn, Class of 2024, began her small business, “Styles by Niya” in 2021.
This business was created after Saniya started to learn how to french braid at the age of 12.
Saniya’s business dreams are to become a successful entrepreneur in creative design.
“I currently have two businesses that I run, it brings me joy to be able to help others feel beautiful through my businesses,” Saniya said.
Her business dream is to be able to continue to grow her business and have multiple locations for her hair business and decorating design business.
Zari Nailed It
Jazariah Johnson, Class of 2024, created a small nail business in 2020 during the pandemic — “Zari Nailed It”.
“Zari Nailed It” has inspired Jazariah to not only continue her nail salon business but also create new business ventures.
Jazariah aspires to one day become a successful business owner for a chain of nail salons in the future and
also wants to make sure to invest in other businesses the same way that many have done for her.
Bee Love Cafe
North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN) created Bee Love Cafe in 2021.
Bee Love was created as a welcome destination for residents of North Lawndale and more. This small business has taken our community by storm by providing not only delicious food and beverages but also giving the community space to welcome and embrace the creative arts.
Bee Love Cafe not only provides us with amazing opportunities to build connections with each other within the community but also allows residents to learn more about NLEN programs.
