About Mark Hamstra
Mark Hamstra is the Principal of Chicago Bulls College Prep. He was previously the Director of Student Culture & Support for the Noble Network of Charter Schools where he was responsible for the implementation of policy and best practices for student culture across all 18 Noble campuses. Prior to that position, he served as a Dean, Teacher and Football Coach at Chicago Bulls College Prep.
As Principal, he leads a team of incredibly talented staff members to achieve exceptional results for the students we serve. In this role, he is responsible for the overall performance, operation and strategic direction of the school. Prior to transitioning into education, Mr. Hamstra served as an Officer in the United States Army, completing assignments in El Paso, TX, Colorado Springs, CO, Fort Sill, OK, the Republic of Korea and served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He continued to serve in the Illinois National Guard until October of 2018.
Mr. Hamstra holds a Bachelor of the Arts in History from Wheaton College and a Masters of the Arts in Management & Leadership from the University of Texas at El Paso. A native of the Chicagoland area, Mr. Hamstra is a proud resident of the Near West Side community where he resides with his wife and four children. As an educator and as a veteran, he is passionate about developing our country’s next generation of leaders who can together build a more just, equitable and united society.
