About – Chivon Ford
Chivon Ford is an educational leader with more than a decade of experience serving students and school communities in Chicago and beyond. Her work is deeply rooted in creating student-centered environments where scholars are challenged academically, supported personally, and prepared for success beyond high school.
Chivon began her career in education as a Social Science teacher in Nashville, Tennessee, where she quickly developed a passion for building strong classroom culture and driving student achievement through high expectations, authentic relationships, and intentional instruction. Over the years, she has served in multiple leadership capacities focused on academics, culture, operations, and student experience, allowing her to develop a well-rounded approach to school leadership that is rooted equally in strong systems and strong relationships.
Currently serving as Assistant Principal at Chicago Bulls College Prep, Chivon has led key initiatives connected to academic growth, restorative practices, instructional alignment, and school culture. Her leadership has centered on creating systems that promote both accountability and belonging while ensuring students remain at the center of every decision. In addition to her academic leadership, Chivon is passionate about creating transformative opportunities for students beyond the classroom. She has led programs centered on mentorship, conflict resolution, student wellness, and college exposure, believing deeply that student success is connected to both opportunity and support. Her work consistently reflects a commitment to ensuring students feel challenged, seen, celebrated, and prepared for life beyond high school.
Education has always been deeply personal for Chivon. As a first generation college graduate, she understands what it means to navigate systems without a roadmap and the transformative impact that strong educators and meaningful opportunities can have on changing the trajectory of a life.
A proud Chicago native, Chivon earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and her Master of Education Leadership from Lehigh University. With a passion for education and community impact, she remains deeply committed to creating spaces where students are empowered to grow, lead, and thrive.
On a personal note, Chivon is a wife, traveler, foodie, and avid concert goer. However, her proudest accomplishment has been becoming a mother. Motherhood has deepened her commitment to serving and advocating for Chicago youth.
