About Hamza Salameh

Hamza Salameh is a Chicago native and first-generation college graduate. Hamza has five siblings (four sisters and one brother). He credits a lot of who he is today to the ways in which his sisters modeled what it means to be empathetic, hardworking, and resilient. After high school, Hamza went on to receive his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and his Masters of Arts in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. His desire to work in education was sparked from his own experiences with inequity in education, specifically for those at the margins.

In 2015, Hamza began his work with Noble Schools at Johnson College Prep as a Math teacher. It was through his work in the classroom that he was really able to see the impact that the classroom experience can provide for students. After 4 years in the classroom, Hamza wanted an excellent classroom experience to be true for all students and transitioned into leadership through the role of Dean of Instruction for STEM. He then went on to serve as the Assistant Principal of Instruction overseeing academics for the school.

It is his goal to provide an equitable and positive educational experience for all students and drive excellent outcomes aligned to the Anti-Racism Commitment, The Noble Community Pact, and The Noble Classroom.

Outside of Johnson, Hamza enjoys spending time with family and friends, bike riding along the lake path and watching Nightcap with Unc and Ocho!
