Hi Noble,

Next week is Principal Appreciation Week, and I want to begin by thanking our 17 extraordinary principals. Every day, they set the tone for joy, rigor, and belonging at our campuses. Their leadership shapes the experiences of our students, families, and staff, and their work truly changes lives. Please take a moment to reach out and thank a principal who has made a difference on your campus or in your life.

Of course, principals can’t do it alone. Every teacher, staff member, student, and family contributes to the heart of our community. Because of the love and support of everyone at Noble, our students continue to grow and achieve, even when the world around us feels uncertain. Last week, students completed their interim assessments, and the results show strong progress. Our 11th graders increased their ACT composite to 14.8, up from 14.0 last year. Our students with IEPs also made notable gains, outpacing general education students in growth.

These results are worth celebrating. Looking ahead, our growth goals are ambitious: 9th graders aim for 3 points of growth on the ACT, 10th graders for 2 points, and 11th graders for 2.5 points. Each of you, whether you are learning, teaching, or supporting, has a role in helping every student reach their full potential. By staying focused, working together, and believing in each other, we can ensure every student not only thrives and exceeds these growth goals but is also positioned to have as many doors open as possible at the end of their high school career.

As we push toward these goals, we must also stay grounded in the realities our students and families are facing beyond the classroom. We know many are carrying real fear right now, especially in light of recent immigration enforcement activity in our city. These moments are frightening, and I want to reiterate: while we operate within the law, we do not partner with federal immigration agencies, including ICE, to enforce deportation orders. This is a non-negotiable stance grounded in our duty as a public school and our commitment to protecting the dignity and safety of our community. Noble remains, and will always be, a safe, inclusive, and affirming place for all students and staff to learn, work, and belong.

Thank you for being a part of the Noble community.

Much Love,
Brenda

DRW WELCOMES UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS LEADERSHIP

The University of Illinois System Leadership Tour made a special stop at DRW College Prep this month as part of its statewide effort to engage with communities and strengthen educational partnerships. During the visit, students proudly led tours of DRW’s unique campus building and shared what makes their school experience meaningful.

The visit also featured a student panel discussion with Chancellor Bennett (UIUC), Chancellor Gooch (UIS), and Chancellor Mary (UIC), where students spoke about their goals, challenges, and aspirations for the future. It was an inspiring day that showcased student leadership, school pride, and the power of collaboration between Noble Schools and the University of Illinois System.

LA CULTURA POP UP AT BULLS COLLEGE PREP

In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, Bulls College Prep hosted its all-day “La Cultura” Pop-Up, a lively celebration of Latinx culture and community. The event featured local businesses, including Niyah’s Puerto Rican Ice Cream, ChiMoy with their signature chamoy treats, and NaturalAya, who sold handmade soaps and shampoo bars. Students and staff also enjoyed tamales, elotes, and a taco truck for lunch.

The day was filled with live music performances by students, face painting and dancing. The Pop-Up provided an incredible space for students to embrace culture, connect with their peers, and take pride in their heritage. ¡Qué viva la cultura! 🎉

HOPE CHICAGO X JOHNSON COLLEGE PREP

Johnson College Prep kicked off the school year with a special celebration in partnership with Hope Chicago, highlighting the Class of 2026. Hope Chicago supports Chicago students and their families with debt-free college and career opportunities through scholarships, mentoring, and wraparound support. This partnership gives Johnson scholars the guidance and resources they need to reach their goals. ❤️

COOKING CLUB AT RAUNER COLLEGE PREP

“Cooking Club gives students a chance to learn a new skill after school,” says Robert Vega, Music Teacher at Rauner College Prep. “I started the club because I wanted students to gain experiences beyond being college-bound. Learning to cook is an important life skill, and everyone should have the opportunity to become world-ready.”

GRAB A "BYTE" WITH PRITZKER COLLEGE PREP

Freshmen and sophomore girls at Pritzker College Prep spent the day at McDonald’s headquarters for the Grab-a-BYTE event. This one-day immersive experience gave students the chance to explore technology, learn about early-career opportunities, and connect with inspiring women in the field. It was an exciting day that showed students what’s possible in STEM careers.
