Students and parents at Johnson College Prep were overjoyed at the end of February, after an announcement that they would get to go to college debt-free, thanks to the support of Hope Chicago.
All current students AND some of their parents will have their tuition, room and board, fees, and books paid for by the non-profit organization.
Check out the video above to see their reactions and celebration after the announcement.
Also, check out the feature from CBS’s 60 Minutes on what this means for the Johnson College Prep community:
“Every day we wake up, we have new mercy and new grace,” Johnson College Prep student Kavarrion Newson tells 60 Minutes. “I’ll remember this day for the rest of my entire life. I’ll never forget this day.” https://t.co/Ip45mYjqzW pic.twitter.com/aZqNFyqPTU
