The Noble Academy
About – Alondra Covarrubias
Alondra grew up on the Northwest Side of Chicago, leading her to attend Noble’s Pritzker College Prep Campus for high school. She attended The University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Alondra immediately went into the field of Exercise Rehabilitation but found that she felt unsatisfied. Volunteering with a youth organization for several years promoted her curiosity to go into education. She started at The Noble Academy as a Paraprofessional who supported students on a one-on-one basis. She then transitioned into a full-time teaching role as the 10th-grade Multicultural Literature teacher. Specifically, building her curriculum around student identity and voice. In the 2021-2022 school year, after 2 years of teaching English, she returns to her passion for wellness and fitness as a Physical Education Teacher at The Noble Academy. As the daughter of immigrant parents and a first-generation college graduate, Alondra understands the struggle and importance of having a voice. Through her experiences, she has been able to develop ideas and solutions on how to better support students in finding success not only in the classroom but also outside the building.
