About – John Madonna
He grew up on a farm in Michigan but has lived and taught math in Chicago since 2008. When not teaching math, he spends time cooking and playing music or hanging out with his wife and cats. Look, y'all, math is amazing, but plenty of people don't feel that way and He get it. Math is often presented as a bunch of rules someone else made up and is insisting you remember. In reality, math can be collaborative and intuitive and flexible and welcoming to as many voices as we have. At the end of the year, he’s excited to see what everyone will bring to the classroom and what we'll learn together.
