About – Laura Houcque
Laura Houcque was born in France after her family fled from the Cambodian genocide. Laura grew up in the Chicagoland area and is the first in her family to go through the American education system. She is a Collegiate Seminar Instructor and Senior College Counselor at Rauner College Prep. Prior to joining the College Team, Laura was a 10th grade Learning Specialist at RCP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies and Sociology/Anthropology from Denison University and a Master’s of Teaching in Special Education from Relay School of Education. Laura is an advocate for racial, economic, and immigration justice. Outside of the classroom, she uses her skill sets to support historically marginalized communities through her efforts with the Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago organization and the Cambodian Association of Illinois.
