Hansberry College Prep, named after the famous playwright Lorraine Hansberry, is the first public charter in the state of Illinois to be an IB world school.  We are a proud staple of the Auburn Gresham Community, committed to driving equitable results for all of our students while prioritizing building authentic relationships that honor and affirm our students in order to cultivate a space for them to thrive. We place an academic focus on preparing students to inquire, seek knowledge, think critically, communicate effectively, remain principled and open-minded, show care, take risks, find balance and constantly reflect on strengths and weaknesses.
