Hi Noble,
Earlier this week, we honored Veterans Day, a moment to recognize those in our community and across our country who have served with courage and commitment. Their service is a reminder of what it means to dedicate oneself to something larger than any one individual. As Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself similarly reflecting on the people who make Noble what it is.
Every day, I witness our teachers, staff, students, families, alumni, and Noble partners bringing passion, joy, and purpose to Noble. You are the heartbeat of our work. Because of you, our classrooms are alive with curiosity, our hallways are filled with hope, and our campuses are vibrant with the belief that every student - regardless of their starting point - deserves access to an equitable, world-class education.
At Noble, we understand that real, lasting, generational change requires more than strong systems; it requires bold, creative, and transformative thinking. That’s why, as part of our three-year strategic plan, we are launching an organization-wide innovation initiative aimed at dismantling the barriers that most affect our students’ success. This work isn’t about innovating for the sake of innovation; it’s about reimagining what’s possible when we listen deeply, think courageously, and design solutions driven by equity that open new pathways for our young people.
We want everyone’s voice in this process: staff, families, alumni, and partners alike. In December, we’ll host a series of Alumni Listening Sessions on December 3, 9, and 16, followed by two Family Listening Sessions on Wednesday, December 11. Our staff will also participate in on-campus listening sessions, creating space for open dialogue and reflection across our schools. Each of these sessions is an invitation to dream with us to share your perspectives on the challenges our students face and where Noble should focus its innovative energy next. If you’re unable to attend, I invite you to share your feedback here by December 19.
As we approach the fall break, I hope you take time to rest, reflect, and enjoy moments of joy and connection with your loved ones. Thank you for all that you do to make Noble stronger every day.
Much Love,
Brenda

JOHNSON COLLEGE PREP 9TH GRADE SCIENCE CLASS
At Noble, we believe learning should feel connected to the world students live in. 🔬💡
Shoutout to Ms. Mac at Johnson College Prep for making that real every day. In her 9th-grade science class, the DNA extraction lab with strawberries is one of the many ways she helps students explore, question, and see science come alive. 🧬🍓

FOOD RESOURCES BLOG
With the federal government shutdown now over, we know many in our Noble community are still feeling the ripple effects. The uncertainty it created around SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits is still very real for many of our families, and we recognize the ongoing stress this brings. Please know this: you are not alone.
We’re exploring ways to provide meaningful assistance to those who rely on these benefits. In the meantime, we’ve curated a list of resources that anyone in our community can access.
👉 Head over to our blog to explore these supports (available in both English and Spanish) and please share them with your community. We’ll continue updating the list as new information becomes available.

INCS PARENT ADVOCACY TRAINING SESSION
Last week, the Illinois Network of Charter Schools (INCS) hosted a Parent Advocacy Group Training.
The in-person session, held at Bulls College Prep, trained parents and family members at charter schools on the primary skills of organizing, including telling their story, building relationships with elected officials, increasing their footprint, and leveraging their power for themselves, their families, their schools, and their communities.
A huge shoutout to our Noble community staff and parents for showing up and participating!

NOBLE'S POLICY CORNER
As we gear up for the upcoming legislative session, we’re continuing our work to ensure that every Illinois student has access to equitable, well-funded public education.
This month, we’re spotlighting one of our advocacy partners — Advance Illinois — and their recently released report, The State We’re In 2025: A Report on Public Education in Illinois. The report takes a comprehensive look at our state’s education system from early childhood through postsecondary education, tracking key investments and outcomes over the past 15 years. It highlights progress made through evidence-based funding and other reforms, while also calling for bold, urgent action to make sure all students can thrive with the resources and support they need. We encourage you to read the full report and stay engaged in this important work.
As we prepare for the upcoming legislative session, there will be opportunities to attend listening sessions and share your perspective to help shape the future of education in Illinois. Your insights will guide our advocacy and ensure state policies reflect the real needs of our students, families, and schools.
You can give feedback by filling out this form by December 3rd or join the staff listening session on Wednesday, November 19th at 4:00 pm (RSVP here).
