School History & Mission

SCHOOL HISTORY

Muchin College Prep was founded in 2009 in the heart of the Chicago Loop. Since our founding, Muchin has welcomed scholars from all across the city of Chicago to engage in rigorous curriculum that prepares them for success in college and beyond. Proudly, 100% of our graduates have been accepted to college. Muchin College Prep was made possible by the vision and generosity of our naming donors, Allan and Elaine Muchin. Mr. Muchin is Chairman Emeritus of Katten Muchin and Rosenman LLP and Chairman of the Noble Board of Directors. Through the years, the Muchin family has continued to generously donate their time and resources in various capacities to enhance the scholar experience at Muchin College Prep. Since its founding, Muchin College Prep’s ACT outcomes have consistently ranked among the top 10 performing non-selective high schools in Chicago.   Muchin has also been a 1+ school, the highest rating a school can achieve, since the start of Chicago Public Schools annual school quality ratings in 2014.  This rating takes into account overall school quality including factors such as scholar attendance, number of AP courses offered, SAT score, high school graduation rate, college acceptance, and more.

MISSION

The Muchin scholar will be an intrinsically motivated, socially responsible, and well-rounded college graduate.
